OK, I haven't updated for a while but there is a good reason! My computer died, was resurrected, died again, and now is very erractic as to when it shall function. I shall explain in more detail...

It's quite a shock when you go to boot up your computer and it says "No bootable drive found." It's an even bigger shock when it keeps repeating the same message over and over again. Now, I call the friendly people at Dell and they help me out. I take out the hard drive of my lil' laptop, clear the mother board of it's surplus energy, put in the hard drive and, tah-dah! my computer works again! Hooray! Except that the window now takes up only a fraction of the screen. So I call up the friendly people at Dell again, and once again they help me out. Yay! My computer is fully back!

So, I boot up my computer, and it pretty much works. It just freezes every 10 minutes, and I must reboot. So, 3 days after the initial incident, my computer, once again, says that there is no bootable drive. So I take out the hard drive, clear the motherboard, put the hard drive back in, and tah-dah! nothing happens.

I call the friendly people at Dell. The guy then tells me that my hard drive is broken, and will need to be replaced with a new one. A blank one. With nothing on it. No windows, no AOL, no anything. And my files will have to go out the window, unless I can somehow manage to transfer them somewhere (since Zip drives aren't compatible with my computer, saving everything on Zip is not possible or probable).

So, that leads me up to today. I'm at school, it's finals weeks, and I'm doing everything I can't do at home here.

Speaking of today, a good many things have happened.

I got my permit card. All I need is 3 hours of Behind the Wheel, and I've got my permit. At last! Driving is now within my grasp!

Then, as I was walking to my next class, estatic that I now am that much closer to driving, I hear my Dad calling me. My Dad? At school? How bizarre. So I see him walking my way, with an envelope in his hand. He says hello (my brother is with him) and then he says "Steph, I don't know what I'm going to do with you..." and he hands me the envelope. It's from the school. "Uh-oh. What'd I do? Did I fail something?" So I open the letter and I read the most unexpected thing ever...

"Congratulations! You have been excepted into the Atlantic Charter National Honor Society!"

"WHAT?!" I say. "How did I do this?!" My Dad is beaming at me. My grades have not been stellar this year, and I know it, and he knows it. He just says "Hard work." and then he and my brother leave, and I'm standing in the hallway confused, yet very happy.

So now I'm here, and I really want to call my Mom and tell her, because she thought I was out of the running. Hee hee...

Opinion of the moment:

Sailor Moon, while very good anime, really ticks me off sometimes. I mean, the characters all look alike, the plot sometimes is so obvious that the reader (at least me) gets mad when they don't figure things out fast enough. I catch myself saying "It's so obvious!!!" a lot when I read the comic. I don't know why I keep reading them, they are fun, but so aggravating sometimes...I need to start on that Kurt Vonnegut book anyway...

Hopefully, more soon.
