Alright, I've been neglecting my diary, but I once again have a sound alabi. I was away at Villanova University in Philly attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (Med Con for short).

Basically, it was a forum thing where you met a lot of people who are interesting in either going into or learning more about medicine. You found out about admissions for med school, problem based learning (very cool way to learn stuff), what's going on in medicine right now, and all about doctors (what they make, how they live, what their job is going to be like in the future, etc.). I went on a med school visit ("Med. School is more like high school then anything else."), a research visit, and a clinical visit. We also had many docs come and talk to us about various aspects of medicine. The best speaker though had to be the Gift of Life people. They brought in a reciever and his donor's Mom. Very sentimental and very convincing.

Other things I saw/did:
1)Saw cadavers.
2)Learned to suture a cut.
3)Saw some really cool X-rays.
4)Saw my own nasal passages, throat and ear canal on a monitor.

Cool, huh?

Yeah, I'm a science geek. Yeah, I want to be a doctor. But this con was seriously a lot of fun. I met some great people, and I learned that campus food is very expensive. I also learned how essential pizza is to the world (or at least the world of a student).

Well, it's time for me to log off. I will keep all 4 of you who read this up to date on what's happening in my life.

Until next time (whenever that may be)...
