Ok, I can finally get around to details now (a week later)...

Lis and I went to see my great friend Joe last Saturday. We bought bus tickets, did the whole thing ourselves. It was one of the best weekends of my life, and I'd do it again in a second (although we'd drive up this time).

Lis arrived at my house at around 8:30am. By 9:20 we were on a bus to NYC. We arrived at NYC with no problems, ate some lunch at a good place called Green Trees, and got on the next bus. We arrivwed in Binghamton at around 4:40pm. We met Joe and his brother there. I was so happy I could have burst. We hadn't seen each other in 8 months. Anyway, after intial hellos and hugs, he drove us to the Red Roof Inn, we dropped our stuff off and got changed, then we wnt to the mall. He and his brother had to get to their school to prepare for the play, so he dropped lis and I off at the mall for dinner. His Mom would pick us up at around 6. Lis and I were not hungry, so we wound up going to the Hot Topic. I got a shirt and a sticker. So, Joe's Mom met up with us at a quarter after 6. She drove us to Joe's school. We waited around for a while and went into the auditorium.

Wow.

Double Wow.

It was the biggest stage I had ever seen. The set was incredible. The play (The King and I) was just wonderful. The sets, costumes, acting, singing, all of it was just heaven. Joe was the interpreter, Phar Alack. He did a great job. He actually sounded like he knew Siamese. Lis had seen the King and I on Broadway, and she said that she liked the one we saw much better. So, after the play, Joe took us on a tour of backstage. It was really great. They had dressing rooms, and the band room was amazing...It made me really envious.

So, after taking the Official Backstage Tour, Joe got dressed into normal clothes, and we went bowling. We bowled from 11:30pm to 1:15am. After bowling we took a cab back to the Red Roof Inn. Joe stayed and hung out with us till about 4am. Then he took a cab home.

At 9:25 the following morning, Joe and his Dad picked Lis and I up. We ate a quick breakfast at Denny's, and went to the bus station. We hung out till the bus came at 11. Then we took the busses home. The only thing that went wrong was that Lis's cell phone was stolen. Other then that, it was one of the best weekends of my life.

This weekend, was my play. We did four really good shows. I'm glad it's over. Life can resume normally now. I also got my prom dress. It looks good. Who am I going with? I'm going stag, baby :-) No one goes stag anymore. It might be cool to try. I'm so bloody independent.

Opinion of the moment: I'm watching the academy awards...Bob Dylan sounds exactly the same as he did 40 years ago. I like the song too.
