Today I did something I never thought I'd do...I was reminising about high school...yes, as much as I thought it was horrible, I found myself remembering a cappella choir. It's a good memory.

Before a performance in the mall, we (the entire choir, not just a cappella) were all standing in a crew entrance, waiting to go on. Everyone...all 50 or so of us...was talking to our buddies, and just generally gossiping. Then, all of a sudden, Nicole (one of our two first sopranos) starts singing the first bar of Carol Of the Bells...one of our a cappella numbers. The rest of a cappella joins in, and suddenlly, the other 40 members of the choir go silent...just listening to us. Even the choir clique stops chattering to listen. We finished our piece and the choir applauded. They told us to sing again. So we did. African Noel. Again, there was complete silence while we were singing. After we were done, they applauded again. But, it was that initial bar that Nicole sang, and how all of us just jumped right in...and how everyone else was quiet...I felt so proud of myself and the rest of the members. It was a great feeling.

That's what I was thinking about today. I *must* go into a cappella choir when I get to college.
