*2001-08-31 - 6:42 p.m.* Hello everyone! Well, I've been at college for 8 days now. Classes have started, and the cliques are falling apart. I've made some great friends so far. I've also changed. It's been 8 days and I've changed. Maybe college is exactly what I've been needing. First off, I've been to a dance and a rave so far. Both times I've actually danced. This is a Big Thing (tm). I usually never dance. Honestly...I thought I had 3 left feet. At the dances I was at, people actually complimented me. I had fun! I met people! I was sociable! My hometown friends say I've done a 180...I'm thinking more along a 90... Even still, college is great. My classes are pretty good, and the ones that aren't so good, I'm gonna try and get out of ::cough, cough, rhetoric...cough:: Anyway, let me think...my roomate Lorraine and I get along really really well. The college was right on the nose when pairing us up. She's gone for the weekend, so I've got the room to myself...but Lis and I are probably gonna do stuff. The dorm is hot. Incredibly. I'm talking thermally enhanced here. We have 2 fans going 24/7. We can't open the windows, or else we get hornets. We had hornets for days before we finally got rid of them (we let them go outside, and only killed the ones that tried to sting us). Hmm...the bathrooms are good...the food is really good...there's always something going on. Lis and I actually got invited to a frat party tonight (we're not going. Drinking beer and hooking up with random people doesn't really appeal). Hmm...my Chem teacher is great. He's pretty much teaching me everything I've already learned, but he's entertaining so it's a trade off. I'm glad I didn't get the boring proffessor who has a slight drooling problem. My rhetoric teacher is a flake (hence, that's why I'm trying to get out of her class), my Calculus teacher...she's good on some points but misses things on others...and my physics teacher seems ok. All my science classes are in this building from 1969, and has not been renovated since. I mean, they've still got the "updated" 1969 version of the periodic table hanging on the walls...it's kinda funny in a way. I love vintage stuff. The building was supposed to be demolished by the time we got there, but it isn't, so that's why. I'm glad. It's a neat old place. That's about it as far as college is going. I'm gonna go make some bracelets or something. ________________________________________________________
