So, you all must hear about what happened Friday, yesterday.

First...The Original Plan:
Dave would meet me outside the Music Building at 2pm after his Math class and my Choir practice. We'd then go to the mall so I could pick up some...garments worn under the clothes. Then, we'd go to Gamer's Realm so I could pick up a handbook and some dice. Next, we'd go out to eat at this really good chinese place, and at 7 we'd go to Rob's house, and play Dungeons and Dragons. These were the initial plans. Now...

What Really Happened...
He met me after Choir at 2pm, because he forgot that his class was cancelled. We went back to my dorm, and I got my stuff for the game that night, and we went to his car. We got to the mall, and I was able to pick up my underclothes.

As we were driving to Gamer's Realm...he noticed that his car was making a squeaking noise. Through a battery of driving test, we figured that it was the breaks...the axels needed to be greased. He also realized that he was really overdue for an oil change. We got to Gamer's Realm, and I was able to pick up the handbook and the dice. Dave also got something.

So, we're driving back to his house, and the squeaking got worse. When we got there, it was about 3:30 or so, and Dave decided that it would be better to change his oil/oil filter and grease his axels right then as opposed to the next day.

He jacked up the car fine, unscrewed the plug fine, and the oil drained fine. Then he tried to get the filter off...and it was stuck. He wound up rounding the edges off the filter so he couldn't get a good grip. It was stuck, and good. He was wary of doing anything else with it for fear of messing it up any more, so he had his Mom e-mail his Dad (who knows a *lot* about cars) about the situation.

As he's waiting for his Dad's reply, he greases the axels, no problem. Then, his brother and his mom inform him that somewhere there's a special wrench that might work. So, we spend a good chunk of time looking for the wrench...we can't find it.

At 5:30, his Dad rolls in. The men immediatly start getting to work on the chair...I've been talking to his mom this whole time (The most I know about cars is that they have 4 wheels and an engine somewhere). Dave's Mom knows the same if not more then Dave about cars.

So, the men fix the car. The filter had also warped. The wrench we had been looking for had been in the back of his brother's car. As Dave is cleaning up the tools and oil for the drive, his Dad comes in, says hello to me, and asks if I'm interested in Amature Radio (HAM radio). My uncle had tried to teach me Morse Code a long long long time ago, and I never got the hang of it, but I still liked the idea of learning. I tell Dave's Dad this, and he gives me some old copies of an Amature Radio magazine. I sit down in a comfy chair and start reading.

Dave comes in, the car finished, and everything cleaned up except himself. He calls Rob's house, and says that we're gonna be about 10 minutes late. He then rushes upstairs to get clean. We wind up leaving the house for Boston Market (that's all we have time for) at around 10 to 7.

We pull into the Boston Market, lock the car, and go in. We get our food, and head back out. About 5 feet behind the car, Dave says he can't find his keys. I find them in his car about 5 seconds later. It's now about 7 o'clock at night, and I'm standing outside without a jacket (I had left it in the car). We try to unlock one of the doors. He uses a piece of wire through the window to try and pull the lock up. I find a paper clip in my pocket, and try to pick the lock. We both fail. He calls his parents to ask if they can bring the spare keys. His parents are out. Fortunatly, Rob's house is not too far down the road.

He gives me his jacket, and takes the food, and we begin to walk...then we begin to run...litterally run, to Rob's house. Now...those of you who know me, know that I can't run to save my life. I didn't fare too badly...I made it about a third of the way before I had to start walking.

So, we reach Rob's house at 7:20. They were wondering what in the world had happened to us. Cameron had his car readily available, so he drove Dave back to his house so he could get his spare keys, then back to the Boston Market so he could get his car, while I stayed at Rob's and ate my dinner.

After Dave got back, the game could start (he's the GM [game master]), and it did...at 7:45.

We ended at 11:45...perfect timing. Dave briefly discussed the website, and then we all dispersed. I went back to his house, and we hung out for a bit. I got to see a little of Casablanca before he had to drive me back to my dorm.

It was, in short, a *great* day.

Today has been equally fantastic too...all though not nearly as exciting :-)
