To a certain someone who broke up with a certain someone...

I know that it's difficult right now. Your mind is constantly going back and forth with the "Why"s, and the "How"s, and the "Was it me"s. Time heals all wounds. Neither of you were at fault, but your lifestyles and ideas for the relationship just clashed to much. For people our age, we need a person who going to be there for us, and who we can be there for. Long distance is a really tough situation for a relationship, at any age, but especially at ours.

I know that some part of you wants to be back with him, but I also know that some part of you is realizing that you are a free person now. No restrictions or limitations. You can be with and do whatever you would like without having to worry that someone is going to disapprove. These are the years when we find out who we are...and it's not an easy task to do when you have a signifigant other hanging over you, making laws for you, like a parent who wants compliance, but who can't even make the trip for your birthday.

I think you both are going to be better off. You can focus and experience more things then you both could before. Being in a relationship that feels like a marriage is not fun at such a young age. When you're ready for marriage, you're ready for that relationship. You are still young, and still have time to play the field and pick the very best of the bunch, because that is what you deserve.

It's hard now. It always is. In the long-run, things will be better. You both are not going to stay out of each other's lives. It was a friendship to start, and now it can still be a friendship. I think you two will work better as friends.

So, no more tears. This is a chapter of your life that you can cherish, and look back on as often as you like, but I wouldn't relive it. Not with so many more chapters that you have yet to write.
