*05.01.2003 - 9:50 a.m.* Firstly, I finished Fight Club, and this is what I would recommend...see the movie first. The movie gives a better representation of the main drive of the book. However, after you see the movie, immediatly read the book (208 pages). The book gives better insight then the movie does. Honestly, in terms of which one is better, I think they are both equal. The movie rocked, as did the book. So, now that Fight Club is finished I'm reading a new book called Cheese Monkeys. It's about an Art major with a teacher that changed his life. It looked cool, so I picked it up. Some books that I plan to finish during the summer (in no particular order):
I was thinking of maybe starting a book club on campus. One of the things I don't like about college life is the fact that pleasure reading took a backseat to everything else. As you all can probably tell, I've been trying to re-incorporate pleasure reading back into my life. Seeing as how I do work at a bookstore, I should take more advantage of the books available to me. Back to the book club idea. I was thinking of starting a book club. Nothing big and offical...small and informal. We'd meet every two weeks, and discuss the book we just read. Each meeting, we'd pick a new book to read from a list compiled by suggestions and stuff. The criteria for the books is that they have to be under 350 pages, and the book has to be agreed upon by a majority vote. The book could be any genre. I think that sounds like a a lot of fun. We'll see how much work I'm gonna have stacked on me next semester. So, let me think...what else is going on? Tomorrow night is the choir concert, and I'm really excited about that. Today I have to pack up a bunch of my stuff for my parents to take home. I also have to work on my Great Poem paper. That's due tomorrow. And I have to study Stat. I got 3 chapters done yesterday...I was happy about that. Oh! Gi-hugical thank yous and hugs go out to Lynne. She talked me through some stuff last night, and I owe her a great deal of thanks. So, if any of you see Lynne (doesn't have to be the Lynne I'm talking about, any Lynne will do), give her a big hug for me. Oh! And another thing! I showed Queer As Folk to Sean and Lauren! And they liked it! YAY! I also found out that Dana and Sara also like QAF! YAY! I thought I was the only one...Hooray! I'm almost done the Season Two DVDs...I can't wait for Season 3. Ok, I think that's it for updates. I believe this is a pretty good entry to start the month on. Thought of the moment: I don't think Crunchberries have ever tasted this good ever. Shows me for not eating for 13 hours. ________________________________________________________
