*12.06.2003 - 10:45 a.m.*

Yeah...last night was fun...

So, Dave gets out of work (1.5 miles away) at 11, and usually gets home at around 11:15. Because of the snow, I guesstimated that he would probably get home around 11:45 (digging out the car, going slow on the roads, etc.) 11:45 rolls around....no Dave.

11:55 rolls around...no Dave.

At midnight, I wake up his parents and tell them that I'm going to go and look for him. They say "No, he'll call if he needs help. If you go out and get stuck, then we'll have two kids stuck." So I stayed. But something told me to wait outside. So I did.

At 12:15am a figure approaches the house. I couldn't tell if it was Dave or a freaky neighbor guy. It was Dave.

It turns out his car died. He tried to call from the ACME, but they wouldn't let him use the phone. He tried to call from his friend Rob's house, but no one was home. So he hiked the last mile home...IN THE 25 DEGREE WEATHER AND SNOW!

So, he explains what went on, and his Dad says that we'll go get his car in the morning. I go upstairs with him and the first thing I hear is "I do NOT want to hear about cell phones or that this is the exception that proves the rule! I'm going to bed!" And with that, he turns in.

Well, I go out to my car to get some Excedrin (the dust and the stress were giving me a humdinger of a headache). As I was out there, Dave came out. He said that he forgot if he locked his car or not.

We're about to drive away when Dave's Mom calls on my cell phone. She said that Dave's Dad was coming down to help us with his car.

Dave's dad comes down, and we all go to his car...at 1am. Dave and his Dad manage to get the car started and we get it home.

Then Dave and I eat pizza and watch Sinbad (the animated one), and go to sleep.

You already know what the moral of this story is. So does Dave. We talked about it this morning.
