I just want to put on a pink bunny suit and scream...

So, I was thinking about the work situation again...while on the toilet...and I thought to myself, "If I were the GM...if I were Kitty...what would I do?" Here's the plan I came up with:

• 1.I would question the cafe staff as to their opinion of Adam, and his ability to do his job.
• 2.I would ask the Cafe manager, and the Cafe supervisior how they would rate Adam's performance and if they noticed that he enjoyed one task over another... i.e. He would recover of shelve DVDs over cleaning the Cafe.
• 3. Suppose I learn that he shelves DVDs readily over cleaning the cafe...I would decide to make him a multimedia or recovery person and have him be a constant Cafe backup.
• 4. I would approach him and ask him if he would rather work as multimedia or recovery and be a Cafe backup, or if was happy where he was now. If he tells me that he's happy where he is now, then I would tell him, in a nice way, that his coworkers have a problem with him, and that if he wants to stay in the cafe he's going to have to do a better job, or I will be forced to move him. If he tells me that he would like working multimedia better, I would say, ok, we'll try that.
• 5. I would start training an employee who wants to learn Cafe in the cafe.
• After 2 weeks, I would check on Adam's status and the status of the cafe person who initially brought this up.
• Two weeks after that, I would check again. Hopefully everything would be good by that point.
