*04.20.2004 - 8:02 a.m.* It's been five years since Columbine. Hmm...I'm not sure how I feel about that. On this day, five years ago, I was still in CPSJ. A carefree, happy, sophomore, who excelled in her very small classes. Five years ago was exactly one year before I started up this diary. According to Billboard.com, five years ago, the top five songs in the country were "No Scrubs" by TLC, "Believe" by Cher, "Every Morning" by Sugar Ray, "What's It Gonna Be?!" by Busta Rhymes Ft. Janet Jackson, and "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer. The top five albums were I Am... by NAS, Fanmail by TLC, Baby One More Time by Brittney Spears, Thug Mentality 1999 by Krayzie Bone, and The Slim Shady LP by Eminem. How freakin' weird is that? We were all completely entranced, enthralled, and scared silly by "The Matrix"...five years ago. And Columbine. I remember thinking that there was no way that kids my age could have done something so horrible. That there must have been severe parental neglect factored in. Five years ago, September 11th was just another day. I think I'm just overthinking things again. It's weird to see the passage of time like that, in terms of tragedies instead of birthdays or vacations. I'm not sure how I feel about that either. ________________________________________________________
